Free Tours Groningen will guide you through the amazing city of Groningen. With our local guides, you will discover the most interesting places, landmarks, dive into its rich history, hear the local stories, and experience the vibrant student vibe that makes Groningen so unique. Our guides are eager to share their recommendations on the best places to eat, drink and the top things to do after the city tour. The duration of the walking tour is around 1½ hours.

Our guided tours are a great way to get to know Groningen quickly. All our local guides are well-acquainted with the life in Groningen and know the city inside and out. While you’re walking with us, you can immerse yourself in the city’s unique student atmosphere, discover our city’s hidden gems, and ask us anything you want to know.
We use the free tour philosophy: you don’t pay anything before you join the city walk… at the end, you pay whatever you think it was worth!
To join the tour please book in advance by filling out the reservation form. Per tour we have space for 15 people.
After you have made your reservation we welcome you at the statue of St. George and the Dragon, next to the Martini Tower. If you are coming with a group consisting of more than 10 people, please send us an email. It is also possible to book private tours.
